What is the reason for the high temperature of the screw air compressor? How to troubleshoot?

The repaired air compressor failures include, but are not limited to, high temperature, insufficient air pumping, overpressure of the main engine, overload of the motor, and excessive noise. Among them, the high temperature of screw air compressor is caused by many reasons, external and own reasons. Based on years of experience in the maintenance of screw air compressors, Kerun Energy-saving engineers have summarized the following reasons for the high temperature of the screw air compressor.

1. External reasons

1). The ambient temperature is too high, because the higher the temperature, the thinner the air, resulting in a decrease in the working efficiency of the air compressor, making the air compressor more time in the loading state, carrying more load, and causing the air compressor to generate more heat. The temperature rise of the air compressor is also inevitable.

2). If the ambient temperature of the air compressor is higher than the design operating temperature, the temperature of the air compressor will be increased, resulting in shutdown.

2. Its own reasons
1). The air compressor is short of oil: check the oil level of the oil and gas barrels after stopping and releasing the pressure. The oil level should be slightly higher than the high oil level mark H (or MAX). During the operation of the equipment, the oil level cannot be lower than the low oil level mark L (Or MIX), if the oil is found to be insufficient or the oil level is not observed, stop and refuel immediately.
2). Failure of the oil shut-off valve: If the component is not opened when the component is loaded, the main engine will quickly heat up due to lack of oil, and in severe cases, the screw assembly will burn. Because it is generally a two-position two-way solenoid valve, it opens when starting and closes when stopping to prevent the oil in the oil and gas barrel from continuing to spray into the machine head and spray out from the air inlet during shutdown.
3). Temperature control valve failure: If the thermal control valve fails, the lubricating oil may directly enter the machine head without passing through the cooler, so that the oil cannot be lowered, causing overtemperature. The main reason for its failure is the size of the valve core After the two heat-sensitive springs are fatigued, the elastic system changes and cannot operate normally with temperature changes; second, the valve body is worn, the valve core is stuck or the action is not in place, causing the air compressor to high temperature.
4). The oil filter is blocked: the flow of the air compressor is reduced or the oil of the air compressor cannot reach the machine head, resulting in high temperature of the air compressor.
5). Exhaust duct problem for air-cooled unit installation: the air passage surface of the duct is too small, the exhaust duct is too long, the middle of the exhaust duct is too many bends or the duct is too long without an exhaust fan installed in the middle, and the exhaust fan flow rate is less than the air pressure The machine is originally equipped with a cooling fan to make the air compressor high temperature.
6). The temperature sensor reading is inaccurate
7). Whether the fuel volume regulator is normal, the fuel injection volume can be increased if necessary. Generally, it should not be changed, and it has been adjusted before leaving the factory.
8). The engine oil has exceeded the use time, and the engine oil has deteriorated: the engine oil is frequency-converted, and the heat exchange performance is reduced, which causes the heat of the air compressor head
Can not completely take away the high temperature caused by the air compressor.
9). Whether the oil cooler is normal: For water-cooled models, check the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet water pipes. Under normal circumstances, it should be 5~8℃. If the temperature is lower than 5℃, there may be scaling or blockage, which will affect the performance of the cooler. Heat exchange efficiency, and cause poor heat dissipation, sometimes the heat exchanger can be removed and cleaned.
10). Head problem: Because the air compressor's clearance and balance are ensured by the bearing, if the wear of the bearing increases, it will cause the heat output of the air compressor to increase, resulting in the high temperature of the air compressor.
11). The quality of lubricating oil is poor
12). Blockage of the oil and gas separator: Blockage will cause excessive internal pressure, and excessive pressure will cause many problems. High temperature is one of them.
13). Air filter clogging: clogging will cause the air compressor to be overloaded, and it will cause high temperature in the long-term loading state. It can be checked or replaced according to the alarm signal of the differential pressure switch. Generally, the first problem caused by the clogging of the air filter is The air production is reduced, and the high temperature of the air compressor is a secondary performance.
14). Whether the pressure is too high: The pressure is generally set at the factory. If it is necessary to adjust, it should be based on the rated gas production pressure calibrated on the equipment nameplate. If the adjustment is too high, the load of the machine will increase, which will cause overshoot. Temperature phenomenon.
15). Whether the temperature of the cooling water inlet is too high, whether the water pressure and flow are normal, check whether the ambient temperature is too high for air-cooled models.

There are various high temperature conditions of air compressors. If the exhaust temperature is too high, first try to use the experience of the editor to carry out the following investigation step by step:

1) Check whether the exhaust pressure exceeds the regulation, if it exceeds, it should be adjusted to the regulated exhaust pressure;
2) Check whether the lubricating oil is clean and the oil level is normal. If necessary, make up or replace the lubricating oil;
3) Check whether the fan motor speed is normal and whether the exhaust port is blocked;
4) Check whether the outer surface of the oil cooler and aftercooler is clean, and clean the outer surface of the cooler if necessary;
5) Check whether the environment affects the air intake and exhaust of the unit. If so, eliminate the influence of external factors to ensure that the unit is ventilated normally;
6) Check whether the temperature control valve is damaged; check whether the solenoid coil and diaphragm of the solenoid valve are damaged, repair or replace if necessary;
7) Check whether the oil filter element is blocked or the resistance is too large. If so, replace the oil filter element.
