The main points of the adjustment of the clearance at the exhaust end of the screw air compressor

A key technology in maintenance is the adjustment of the discharge gap. Adjusting the gap directly affects the performance of the compressor. If the clearance is too large, it will reduce the working efficiency of the compressor, resulting in insufficient air output and insufficient power, which will cause the machine to over-temperature and automatically stop; if the clearance is too small, even if it runs normally temporarily for a long time, after the shaft pump is worn out, It is also easy to cause the rotor end face to rub against the exhaust end cover and damage the main engine.

Therefore, when adjusting the gap, you should pay attention to the following points:
① When measuring the gap, tighten the exhaust end cover and the housing with bolts, otherwise the accuracy of the measured value will be affected.
② Use a jack to jack up the screw and install it into the bearing after it is pressed firmly. Make sure that the bearing is in place. After pressing it with the bearing inner ring gland, loosen the jack.
③ Install a dial indicator on the exhaust end, put the dial indicator probe on the shaft end, adjust the indicator of the dial indicator to 0 position, and jack up the jack until the indicator index no longer increases. At this time, the reading should be Within the range of 0.05~0.08. If it is not within this range, the re-adjustment gasket must be removed until it meets the requirements.
④ Measure the end face runout of the bearing inner ring (exhaust end) after the bearing is installed, install a dial indicator, put the dial indicator probe on the bearing inner ring, turn the rotor one circle by hand, and see the indicator of the dial indicator. The amount of swing, this value should be within 0.01mm, otherwise, check whether the outer ring of the bearing is in place or whether there are impurities in the bearing and bearing race.
⑤ Install the bearing gland, tighten the gland bolts, install the dial indicator, put the dial indicator probe on the bearing inner ring gland, jack up, and check the bearing clearance. The clearance should be 0.015~ If it is not within the range of 0.03mm, the thickness of the steel gasket on the bearing gland can be adjusted until it meets the requirements. Note that if this gap is too high, the bearings will easily get stuck after the machine is running, or even damage the machine.
