The clean energy power of air compressors has been widely used in various industries, and this kind of equipment will inevitably have various failures under common use. This time I will tell you the reason why the relay in the air compressor system does not pick up. .

In the air compressor starter box, the start and stop of the motor is completed by the contact of the intermediate relay in the instrument control cabinet. The air compressor is automatically started and stopped under the control of the system pressure, that is, when the system pressure reaches the set upper limit of 0.75MPa, the unit will unload and run When the operating time reaches the set time and the system pressure has not fallen below the lower limit of the system set pressure 0.4MPa, the unit will automatically unload and stop.

If the gas consumption is large, the unit will stop without unloading, from loading operation to unloading operation, and the cycle starts again. These controls are completed by pressure relays, time relays and intermediate relays in the instrument control cabinet. The air compressor unit is running in an automatic control state. The operating staff is in an unsupervised state except for two inspections per shift.

The cause of the autotransformer's heat and fire is that the main contactor of the motor does not pull in during the starting process, and the motor cannot run at full voltage, and the autotransformer runs with it, causing it to heat up and catch fire. There are two reasons why the intermediate relay does not close:

One is because the air compressor motor is 138kW, and the main contactor is an AC contactor. Its armature is heavier and vibrates greatly every time the air compressor is started. Over time, the lead of its own coil is shaken off or the armature is stuck. During normal operation, the normally open contact of the intermediate relay and the normally closed contact of the autotransformer star point contactor should make the relay pull in and fail to pull in. The motor runs with the autotransformer, and the autotransformer becomes Reactor, the coil heats up and causes an accident;

The second is that the time relay in the control loop is damaged, causing the motor to always run through the autotransformer to reduce pressure, and the autotransformer heats up and burns out.
