What caused the oil leakage of Ingersoll Rand air compressor?

In the daily operation of Ingersoll Rand air compressors, oil leakage from the air compressor often occurs, with lubricating oil spilling on the outside.

The reasons for the oil leakage of the air compressor are as follows:

1. The oil seal falls off or the oil seal is defective and leaks oil
2. The main shaft is loose and causes the oil seal to leak.
3. Leakage of the joint surface, loosening of the oil inlet and return pipe joints
4. The belt is installed too tightly, causing the main bearing bush to wear
5. Casting or machining defects can also cause oil leakage in the air compressor

Ingersoll Rand air compressor oil leakage fault judgment and troubleshooting methods:

1. If the air compressor leaks oil, pay attention to the oil seal part, check whether the oil seal is cracked, the inner lip is cracked or flanged by mistake. If there is one of the above conditions, it should be replaced; check whether the joint surface of the oil seal and the main shaft is scratched or defective. If there are scratches or defects, replace it. Check whether the oil return is unblocked. If the oil return is not smooth, the crankcase pressure is too high and the oil seal is caused. If the oil leaks or falls off, it must be ensured that the oil return pipe has the proper size, is not twisted or bent, and the oil returns smoothly. Check the oil seal and the matching size of the box. Replace if it does not meet the standard.

2. Move the main shaft forcefully to check whether the neck gap is too large. If the gap is too large, replace the bearing bush and oil seal at the same time

3. Check the sealing conditions of the gaskets of each joint, repair or replace the gaskets, check and tighten the bolts of the oil inlet and return joints and the box body threads.

4. Check the oil leakage of the air compressor and re-adjust the tightness of the belt. It is advisable to press down 10 mm with the thumb. If the air compressor leaks oil, it is necessary to check the box casting or processing defects, repair or replace the defective parts.
