Different seasons have different effects on the use of air compressors, and the cold winter is the biggest test! In the case of low temperature, the viscosity of the air compressor's oil increases, which may cause the air compressor to rise instantaneously or shut down when the air compressor is over-temperature. In severe cases, it may even cause the host to jam.
With this hidden danger, how to use the air compressor in winter? Don't worry, Yiju Electromechanical will teach you a few tricks now to ensure that your air compressor can run more smoothly and efficiently in the cold winter!
1. Take measures to prevent cold in the room temperature
As the temperature drops, the viscosity of the air compressor lubricating oil will rise, which will have a great impact on the restart of the air compressor after a period of shutdown, and will also affect the life of the machine.
Confirm the working status of the automatic drain valve of the air compressor, air storage tank, dryer and filter;
When leaving get off work or when the equipment is shut down, drain valves such as pipes, gas storage tanks, dryers, etc. are completely opened, and the condensate is cleaned before closing the valves. The temperature of the air compressor room is maintained above zero; the exhaust outlet is closed or adjusted to the room to adjust the indoor temperature; when the compressor is stopped or not running, an electric heater needs to be properly activated to adjust the temperature.
2. Air compressor management during shutdown
After the compressor is stopped, the gas must be discharged to the display to display 0.0bar and the valve must be closed; the automatic drain valve of the air compressor, gas storage tank, and dryer must be opened. After the air and condensate are completely drained, turn it off; when it is shut down for a long time, it must be started once a week, and then repeat the above operation after 3 hours. The large temperature difference between day and night in winter may cause the screw, bearing and other parts of the air compressor to loosen.
Therefore, we must regularly check the looseness of the equipment; secondly, we must ensure that there is no water on the ground around the air compressor to prevent ice and slippage, which may cause the operator to fall.
